SUBMISSION DEADLINE: JUNE 5, 2020


Koffler.Digital invites artists and collectives to submit proposals of original digital works, essays and experimental writing exploring the politics of food in various communities across Canada, to be produced and presented as part of our summer 2020 digital exhibition curated and edited by Letticia Cosbert Miller, Director of Koffler.Digital.

We are interested in proposals that creatively and critically explore the following topics: food justice, scarcity, access, food equity, consumption, ancestral recipes, ancestral knowledge, food and ritual, gardens/gardening, food waste, sustainability, ‘women’s work’, feeding children, food and stress, food and solidarity, Passover during quarantine, food and technology, food and identity, food histories, food during COVID-19, grocery shopping, Ramadan fasting during quarantine, culinary colonialism, food movements, Indigenous food sovereignty, food culture, etc.

We are seeking proposals for longform essays, short form and/or experimental writing, as well as original digital artwork in media such as photography, video, sound, animation, illustration, integrative media, etc. Artists living and working across Canada, and at all levels of their career, are welcome to apply.
