Their diverse perspectives and extensive experience, coupled with their shared passion for the arts, strengthens the Koffler as we continue to inspire, enlighten, and enrich the cultural life of the city through arts education and exhibitions,” said Board Chair Helen Burstyn.
ANAHITA AZRAHIMI: Executive and Creative Director of the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair. Anahita’s two decades of experience in contemporary dance, theatre and visual arts includes former board positions at the Arts Management program at Centennial College, WeeFestival of Arts and Culture, Modern Times Stage Company, and the steering committee of Cultural Pluralism in the Arts, as well as numerous juries, including the Dora Mavor Moore Awards, the Ontario Arts Council, Craft Ontario and Design TO.
ELAINE KIERANS: A career lawyer with decades of experience in both the private sector and government service. She was formerly a director and vice-chair of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, acting chair of the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relationship Tribunal, and a director of Casey House Hospital and Canadian Stage. Ms. Kierans is a recipient of the ICD.D designation from the Rotman School of Business and the Institute of Corporate Directors.
ORIT SARFATY: Most recently Chief Program Officer at Evergreen, Orit previously held strategic roles at the Seattle Art Museum and Seattle Center, served as Principal Consultant at Lord Cultural Resources in Toronto, and spearheaded cultural planning for the City of Chicago, the arts campus for Harvard University, and the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC.
ROB STEINER: Director of the Dalla Lana Fellowship in Global Journalism and Assistant Professor of Public Health at UofT. Award-winning global finance correspondent for the WSJ and Pulitzer Prize finalist, Mr. Steiner is a former BCG and Bell Media executive and served as health policy advisor and principal speechwriter for Hon. Paul Martin, Prime Minister-designate, in 2002-03 and in 2000 managed the Liberal Party of Canada’s new media campaign under Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
