Artists in the Gallery: Nile X and LALA

  • Talks +More

Nile X’s deep passion for live painting led him to create detailed artwork on the streets of Toronto from the early age of twelve. Since 2018, he has been creating intricate paintings in busily trafficked areas of the city such as Yonge-Dundas Square, Yorkville, St. Lawrence Market, Kensington Market, High Park, and even on the TTC! Though he began working with acrylic paints, he transitioned to oil paints in 2022.

Visit Koffler Arts, meet Nile X, and you just might find yourself depicted in a painting to be added to the exhibition, Another DECADE.

LALA is a street artist building a reputation for ambidextrous drawing of spontaneous pen n’ ink portraits of Torontonians. Find him working throughout the city, especially in Kensington Market. Meet LALA and have your portrait drawn* and added to the exhibition, Another DECADE.

* Should you wish to sit for a portrait, please understand there is a fee involved as Lala is a professional artist who charges for his work. The portrait will be added to the exhibition and, after the exhibition closes on December 15, 2024, the portrait could be pick-up at Koffler Arts or, for an additional fee, could be sent to you by courier or Canada Post.
