Here, There and Everywhere. Synagogues, Memorials, and Place: Gallery Talk
What does it mean to host an exhibition about a synagogue that tells the story of a site that is somewhere else? How do we imagine a place that we may never see? This Gallery Talk will consider these questions and link such thoughts to where memorials and synagogues are physically located while asking if the memory of this specific traumatic event can be multi-placed in our memories; That is, is it possible to give imagination free-rein to relocate from the site where the history occurred and simultaneously be transported here, there or everywhere?
