Look Up! Look Down! Look Upside Down! Photo Journalists & Photography Exploration
- Talks +More
2-4pm
Artist and writer Marisa Kelly invites kids ages 10+ and their adult companions to discuss what it means to be a photojournalist, then build a pinhole camera.
After assembling their pinhole cameras, they will walk around the gallery and observe the photo-documentation taken by the three prominent photographers whose work is featured in the exhibition: Edward Burtynsky, Maxim Dondyuk, and Iwan Baan. Their newly-seen reality through their pinhole camera will connect with the archive film negatives, the photographs on the walls and the importance of capturing photographs around us. Participants will be given a photojournalist notebook to record their findings, and can take their pinhole camera home (along with DIY instructions).
