Land Acknowledgement

The Koffler Centre of the Arts acknowledges that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples, and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We pay respect and honour their histories, traditions and continuous living cultures, and commit to accountability, respectful relations and friendship. In particular, the Koffler is committed to regularly showcasing Indigenous artists and writers in our gallery and public programs; hiring Indigenous staff members, arts professionals and interns; and working in partnership with Indigenous-led organizations to actively promote collaboration and reconciliation.
