Jessica Stockholder, curator of the exhibition and long-time friend of Elana Herzog, will engage with Koffler’s Head of Artistic Engagement, Josh Heuman, and take questions from the audience.

As she writes:

As I have known Elana for four decades this opportunity to spend time with her work has been unusually lovely. It afforded time to think about and observe the richness of her work over the years. I have always appreciated how Elana so thoroughly explores the physical possibilities inherent in the materials that she uses and how, over the years, that work has resonated so richly with larger histories, cultures, and economic systems.

Jessica Stockholder is an artist, having exhibited widely in museums and galleries internationally. Her work is represented in the permanent collections of numerous museums, including the Whitney Museum of Art; The Art Institute of Chicago; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; The British Museum; Stedelijk Museum; and Vancouver Art Gallery. Stockholder’s recent solo exhibitions include in 2025 at Es Baluard Museum in Palma de Mallorca, Spain; 2024 at Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh; 2023 at Frac Normandie in Sotteville-lès-Rouen, France; 2021 at at 1301PE in Los Angeles; 2018 at The Contemporary Austin; and 2016 at Galerie nächst St. Stephan in Vienna. Recent group exhibitions include in 2025 Catriona Jeffries Gallery in Vancouver; 2022 at Musée d’art modern et contemporain in Saint-Étienne, France; 2022 at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; 2021 at Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Turin, Italy; and 2021 at Centre Pompidou in Paris.
